I always seem to have a few projcts in the works. The one closest to completion is a crescent-shape shawl or shawlette I am calling Sea Turtle. It is done in two different varigated yarns that seem to work well together. Both are finger weight wool and/or wool blend yarns.
The lower portion is in a color blend that reminds me of the changing colors of the sea. The bottom is done in a stitch called "seafoam." The middle section uses a stitch I created (or at least one I have not come across before.) It is meant to be in the shape of sea turtles.
The upper part is in a yarn that is a sea-green in various tints and shades. It is knitted in a seed stitch pattern and is meant to be a sandy beach.
This has been my first attempt at a complete design of my own. I am pleased at how it is turning out, even though there has been a LOT of "frogging" (rip-it, rip-it!!) If I am happy with the final results, it will very likely make it to my Etsy shop.
