Shoelace Yarnworks & Sundries is a sole proprietorship located in the beautiful Sandhills region of Western Nebraska. I have sold a few things locally over the past several years, but living in a small rural area of western Nebraska, sales opportunities are limited. So, in January 2016, I made the decision to open an Etsy shop. Now, after 50+ years of knitting and making other various crafts (and at the age of 63) I am now a business owner!
The business currently deals (mainly) in knitted apparel and toys. However, I have plans of expanding my listings to include such items as hand crafted shawl pins, hand carved cookie molds, handmade jewelry, knitted household accent pieces, and more!! I also want to add more knitted lace items.
After realizing I had a lot of views from many countries, in January 2017, the decision to add international shipping was made. Now we wait to see if the business will go “global”??
Future plans for the shop are to add a website and a blog.
Why the name for my business? I pretty much operate on a “shoestring” budget. Although most of what I offer is made from yarn, I also plan on expanding the business to include other miscellaneous items. Thus, the name “Shoelace Yarnworks & Sundries” was adopted.
It is my hope to one day open a physical store in addition to my Etsy shop. In the meantime I will continue to expand my Etsy shop and my online presence.
I hope you come back often to see what has been added!
